CV Writing and NLP
I like NLP Applications where you can get direct feedback on the results of skills. One area that I have done a lot of work with NLP is CV Writing and Job Interview Techniques. Based on my personal experience and those clients I have worked with NLP Techniques can make a dramatic difference to both your CV and your Interview Skills.
Psychological Techniques and CV Writing
There are a whole number of psychological things you can do to your CV to increase the effectiveness such as leading the eye to the parts you want recruiters to look at and how you make it stand out, but we will restrict this to some of the pure NLP aspects.
Building Rapport with a CV
A strong element of NLP Training is about building rapport. One way of doing this with written material is matching and mirroring, values, beliefs and the actual words that the reader would use.
When you apply for a job you already have information about the role and the company that you are applying to. Using the advert, the company website and any other literature you might have you can discover the company values, buzz words and job criteria. Your CV, particularly if you are using an adaptable, targeted CV format can be matched with the company simply by using the right words. Only doing this will dramatically increase the level of rapport with the recruiters.
NLP Language Patterns used on CVs
Using the usual over the top hypnotic Milton Language on a CV is unlikely to work. It will seem redundant, vague and ambiguous on a document that is supposed to convey detailed facts and information. That said you can turn a CV in to a very trance like document simply by opening anticipation loops.
Consider having a CV that gives you lots of evidence of great results you have achieved with little or no explanation of how you achieved them. What this will start to do in the mind of the recruiter is to want to question you about how you achieved these great things. If on your cover letter you highlight some of the benefits you can provide for the company and relate them back to these open loops. Now your recruiter will have a direct benefit statement for employing you, evidence of the fact you can create the result, but nothing on how you have achieved it. To get that final piece of the jigsaw they will have to call you for interview. This I the basis of anticipation loops and this paragraph along with the previous is an active demonstration of one way to use them.
Used artfully this approach can build a huge compulsion to bring you in for interview. Later when you are interviewed and you start to discuss those open loops you will build even more credibility and rapport with your interviewer. One final element that is worth mentioning about using NLP for CV Writing is about specific words. Reading this a person interested in NLP Training you might be aware of the power of individual words and phrases. As such here are several phrases I often see on CVs:

There are whole numbers of words that I see on CVs that do not show candidates in the best light. This is just one example. Taking a little care over what individual words convey will help considerably with your CV.

Great post you have in here. Although I would like to add that job seekers should remember to add their significant achievements in their previous employment.
This would show the employer what value you can bring on board with them once they hire you.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbour were preparing to do some research about that. We got a very good book on that matter from our local library and most books where not as influensive as your facts. I am extremely glad to see such info which I was checking for a long time.This made us really glad!
