If you can’t, would you like to know how?

RE: Learn to Write 20 Songs or More a Day Easily Dear Musician,
Let me ask you a question…how long does it take you to write a song? Let me make it easier for you, forget lyrics. How long does it take you to build a song structure, fit all the chords and the melody in? I can write at least four songs an hour and keep this up for several hours at a time. Believe me when I say this is slow…I know people that are writing songs a lot faster. You might think these songs are probably trash, not worth listening to, or don’t sound right, but I am talking about good quality, listenable song with complex chord structures and melodies that are so catchy that you won’t be able get them out of your head. If I said it was possible for you to learn how to do this over a weekend would you spend a few minutes finding out how this is possible?
Yes, I know it sounds impossible and I know you are sceptical; I was exactly the same when I first heard about this approach. But, if there was just a tiny possibility that you can do this then you would want to know how, wouldn’t you?
| 1. | How to write chord progressions in any key |
| 2. | How to write melody lines in any key |
| 3. | Starting with a chord progression writing a melody line |
| 4. | Starting with a melody writing a chord progression |
| 5. | Putting it all together in a song structure |
I also learnt how to put melody, chords and song structure together in less than fifteen minutes. On the hour long flight home from the course I wrote four songs…I didn’t even have my guitar with me.
In case you are thinking I am some sort of super musician and could do this sort of thing before the course, let me give you some background on my song writing career. I have been a guitarist for 25 years and until 2006 when I went on the Understanding of Song Writing Seminar I had written a grand total of four songs. All of them were co written with other people, all of them took weeks of blood, sweat and tears…and only two were good enough to record or play in public. Now you know something about my song writing let me say again on a 60 minute flight, without my guitar and on the same day as I finished the course I wrote four songs all of which I played to friends and family. And now I have hundreds more at various stages of development.
A prerequisite for this seminar is attending Duncan Lorien’s Understanding of Music Seminar. If you have been on this course you already know how much information Duncan can pack in to just three days.
Over the course of just three days you will learn and practice all the skills behind song writing. As with the Understanding of Music Seminar you will go away with 100 lessons. Ten minutes a day for 100 days and you could be writing hundreds of good quality songs every day, easily… In fact you could be doing this by then end of the seminar, I was.
No claim is made that graduates are composing symphonies like Beethoven or songs like U2 in only one weekend but…
The Understanding of Music Seminar is a prerequisite for this course and you can book both courses together. Find out more about the Understanding of Music Seminar on this website. PS. There are years of musical knowledge consolidated in to manageable chunks, developed in to a process that makes it easy to learn on this seminar. Professional composers and songwriters take years to get to this level of understanding…and you get it all in just three days. Dozens of graduates have released CD’s of their own songs and compositions and many of them had no experience of music before attending the Understanding of Music and Understanding of Song Writing Seminars.
PPS. If you could write at least 20 new songs every day, each of which could be a chart hit, a sellable advertising jingle, or just someting to grab an audience at an open mike night in the local pub how will that change your musical aspirations?
