I received an email from Paul about the use of NLP in training and I thought it would be a good idea to post my response.
NLP Techniques Used in a Training Room
Here is the email:
Received: Monday 11th May
I am a trainer interested in exploring the use of NLP in a training room. I am looking for some idea of what I can do with it when I am working with a class. I am not interested in training people in NLP which is what most of the things I have seen, just techniques I can use to make the class learn things more effectively. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Persuasion Techniques in the Training Room
There are many things that NLP generally and Persuasion Techniques can offer trainers. Here is a list of a few things that are explained in full on The Persuasion Skills Black Book Master Training Programme that can really help when training people.
Click the links below to find out more about:
- Using Anchoring in training to install states
- Anchor Chains and how to use them in Training, turning confusion to understanding
- Case Study, using NLP to reduce a week long training course down to one day
- Example of Hypnotic Language Patterns in a classroom
All of these ideas are developed more fully on The Persuasion Skills Black Book Master Training Programme.
Metaphors and Persuasion
One key skill for persuaders and trainers alike that I have not mentioned yet is story telling. I mean story telling in the widest context we can think of. For example a case study, a testimonial and personal experience are all stories of sorts.
These work exceptionally well in a training environment and the best thing for a real Persuasion Artist is that they can hide lots of powerful persuasion techniques in the stories. This is another area that is explored on The Persuasion Skills Black Book Master Training Programme.
