Hypnotic Language Patterns on the Internet

NLP Language Patterns Creating Sales Conversions on the Internet

I’m often asked whether hypnotic language patterns work in written form. The quick answer is yes they do, but there is a real difference in how they are applied. When speaking to people face to face having a strange or quirky way of saying things is neither here nor there and can often be a bonus. When writing things down a strange or quirky phrase just looks like bad grammar. You will find many instances of this on this website where I really stretch the boundaries of grammar to demonstrate a pattern.

Subtle and clever use of language patterns in written form can have a dramatic effect. The following is an account from Dave Ross about how he created a 400% increase in sales conversions from one of his websites shortly after his NLP practitioner course.

NLP Training Applications

“Rintu has been going on at me for some time to write down some of what I did to increase sales conversions on a site of mine. So here are some of the things that I learned on my NLP practitioner course and how I used them for a website that I run along with my mother.

The site we are talking about is about facial hair removal.

I originally attended an NLP practitioner course many years ago and came away with a few interesting tricks but nothing I felt I could use. In 2006 I went on Rintu’s new slant on NLP practitioner training. The course was significantly different from what I’ve been on before. One of the biggest differences for me was the way Rintu facilitated me to always keep the outcome in mind.

At the time one of my main drives was about how I could increase conversions on websites. By always keeping this in mind everything we did on the course I was trying to apply to my websites. I came away from the course with a huge amount of learning and very motivated to apply all this material to a site.

I took many things from the course but the big ones that are stuck in my mind are:

  • How to install a buying strategy
  • How to use “must”, “should” and “could” type statements for momentum
  • Sequencing through visual auditory kinaesthetic representation systems for rapport
  • Using metaphors (although this only really hit me a couple of months after the course)
  • And of course anticipation frames (but more of that later)

Before the NLP practitioner course my site was converting really well. I have done a lot of reading and research about influencing tactics and copywriting. I considered myself very skilled in these areas. I knew even before I had walked off the course that I had some tools and techniques that were so unique know one on the web was using them in any meaningful way. I set out with the intention of finding out how well this would work on my website.

This website was performing very well and better than the norm for the Internet. So I thought it would be a good challenge to the techniques that Rintu showed me on the course.

The results were phenomenal. I spent a week redesigning the site and adding in all the insights I had gained from my course. The results were amazing from a few days of the site being backed up it was obviously pulling a lot more results. On average four times more sales than I had had before. And this was from a good performing website before I’d even started.”

NLP Goal Setting, Starting with the end in mind

Dave is a great example of an NLP practitioner. He has taken his context and his application and fully integrated some very advanced and sophisticated NLP techniques into what he does. He has taken persuasion engineering on the Internet to new levels.

Dave already has extensive knowledge about Internet marketing, search engine optimisation and web traffic driving techniques. Integrating NLP Persuasion Techniques in to this mix has given him a unique package that is unbeatable anywhere on the Internet. Learning through NLP Examples

For those of you that are already NLP practitioners, as an exercise go to Dave’s hair removal site and see how many different ways Dave installs a strategy and then fires it off.

Installing NLP Strategies

For those of you that are new to NLP here is what I am talking about. As people we are just a collection of habits and we like doing things in a particular set sequence. Think about when you are getting dressed, if you wear trousers think about which leg has to goes in first. However spontaneous we think we are there sequences and patterns that we habitually follow. These obviously, are different for different people.

In a face-to-face situation I might be able to find out what strategy you have for buying things. Then if I want to sell you anything I will present my information in exactly the same strategy. This will make it far easier to you to make a decision to buy.

In written form I cannot know what your strategy is, so I cannot match it. On a good NLP practitioner course you will learn the most common structure for a strategy and also different ways of installing it. What this means is you can covertly get a person to become comfortable with a strategy that may not be their normal way of doing things. This is exceptionally useful in written form because it means you can get the reader comfortable with your strategy and then use that to present your information.

Does this work all the time and with everyone? The short answer is no it doesn’t, but it does work more often than not using a strategy at all. My evidence of this is the results from Dave’s site.

Dave only got a great result because he had clear outcomes and was focused and committed to the results on his NLP practitioner course. One of the things I ask of people looking to come on my NLP practitioner course is, “Have you got your outcomes in mind?”

The difference between just another course and a great NLP practitioner course is how well you establish your outcomes and how well the NLP trainer facilitates you to getting them..
